Big Rick's Story

Rick Doty, whose motto is "Big guys always have the best eats", started making his Bar-B-Q sauce almost fifteen years ago when he couldn't find a hot
Bar-B-Q sauce that he liked.

Today, it is in more than 150 stores from Seattle to Miami. The line of products has expanded to include five Bar-B-Q sauces, five salsas, chipolte ketchup, jalapeno honey mustard, pasta sauce and chili fixins.

The former house painter started out of a small building filled with supplies and product. "I thought it would be a hobby" Doty said. "I never thought about doing it full time, but it started taking off. So we quit painting houses and started cooking."

He now markets his products at gourment food stores, cook-offs, trade shows and magazines geared toward
Bar-B-Q and spicy food aficionados.
